Delta Capita Appoints Head of Regulatory Change
Managed services firm Delta Capital has hired Karan Kapoor as its new Head of Regulatory Change and Technology. Kapoor has over a decade of experience in bank regulation-driven business and technology change management, spanning CSDR, Dodd Frank, MIFID II, Basel III and EMIR. Most recently he managed the CSDR initiative at a global investment bank where he led a team to quantify the commercial impact of the CSDR Settlement Discipline regime, whilst supporting the design of target state technology and process solutions to deal with penalties and mandatory buy-ins. His focus will be to help Delta Capita clients benefit from Delta Capita’s digital assets and CSDR project accelerators such as DC-Transform and DC-Modus. These help clients design and implement CSDR solutions more quickly and at lower cost, while improving the robustness and completeness of their chosen CSDR solution.
CubeLogic Makes Two Executive Hires
CubeLogic, a provider of enterprise risk management solutions for the energy, commodities, and financial services industries, has hired David Baker as Group Chief Technology Officer and John Harris as Chief Operations Officer for the Americas region. These are both new roles which have been instated due to growing client demand and rapid business expansion.
Baker joins CubeLogic from BP Trading & Shipping where he managed Enterprise Architecture, Credit and Market Risk. Reporting to CEO Lee Campbell, he will head up CubeLogic’s technology strategy and direction from the London office. Harris, formerly Managing Director at Allegro, Director of the ERTM/CTRM Process Group at PwC and Vice President of Professional Services at SunGard Energy, will be based in Houston, TX.
Wolters Kluwer Finance, Risk & Reporting Hires Co-Head of Sales & Account Management for APAC
Wolters Kluwer’s Finance, Risk & Reporting (FRR) business has hired Mourid Nasri as Co-Head of Sales & Account Management for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, based in Singapore. Nasri joins Wolters Kluwer from Moody’s Analytics where he was Senior Sales Director for South East Asia. During his 10 years with Moody’s Nasri worked across a wide range of risk management and risk advisory disciplines, based in Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany and the UK. He also worked at Deutsche Bank in equity derivatives trading.
In his new position at Wolters Kluwer FRR Nasri will report directly to Rainer Fuchsluger, Managing Director for APAC, and work closely with Tat Wee Koh, Co-Head of Sales & Account Management for APAC. He will lead a regional team of sales professionals and account managers.
RegTech Associates Appoints New Advisory Board Members
RegTech Associates has appointed Janet Adams (Head of Strategic Projects and Performance, Business Banking at TSB) and Ian Hollowbread (Head of RegTech at ING Labs, London) to its Industry Advisory Board, with the remit of providing strategic oversight to the company as it expands. Ian Hollowbread comments “Meeting global regulatory requirements is a challenge that all financial services firms are facing today. We believe in both an open and collaborative approach to innovation – RegTech is no exception and by working together we can improve regulatory outcomes globally.”
Eventus Confirms Four Senior Appointments
Eventus Systems, a global trade surveillance and risk management software platform provider, has appointed Perry Barth as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Dan Burton as Vice President of Engineering, Nolan Schiff as Director of Relationship Management and Sharad Kumar as Sales Engineer. Barth and Burton will be based in Austin, TX, reporting to Eventus CEO Travis Schwab. Schiff and Kumar will operate out of Chicago, IL, reporting respectively to Jeff Bell, Eventus President, and Scott Schroeder, Global Head of Sales.
In February, Eventus announced completion of a $10.5 million Series A funding round. In March the firm appointed Eric Einfalt as Chief Strategy Officer and David Mitchell as Regional Sales Executive for North America, and established its first presence in Europe with the hire of Roger Chandler in London.
André Helfenstein Joins the Board of Directors of SIX
Shareholders at SIX’s AGM yesterday elected André Helfenstein to the Board of Directors. He becomes the representative of Credit Suisse with immediate effect, replacing Thomas Gottstein. The 53-year-old Swiss and British citizen is CEO of Credit Suisse (Switzerland) and a member of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse Group, responsible for the bank’s entire Swiss business. He has been with the bank for over 12 years, holding various management positions in different areas of the private clients business as well as in the corporate and institutional clients business. Before joining Credit Suisse he spent over 10 years with Boston Consulting Group. He is also a member of the Boards of Directors of Neue Aargauer Bank and Venture Incubator.
Lisa Walker Joins ING as Head of Compliance, UK and Middle East
ING has appointed Lisa Walker has its new Head of Compliance for the UK and Middle East, reporting to Simon Berg, Chief Risk Officer for the same regions. Walker previously worked at HM Treasury and the FCA where she managed the relationships with investment exchanges. Most recently, she was Head of Market Regulation at a start-up stock exchange, IPSX. Prior to this, she was Head of Compliance, UK & Europe for Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ). At ING, she will be responsible for driving the compliance culture within the Wholesale Banking London and Dubai offices and providing strategic regulatory guidance.
BTON Financial Makes Two Strategic Hires
BTON Financial, an automated outsourced trading desk for asset managers, has appointed txo new strategic hires to meet the growing demand for its services. Charles Phan, an experienced hedge fund CTO, quant strategist and trader joins as Chief Technology Officer to drive the firm’s technology strategy and delivery; while Caroline Holmes, a regulatory expert and change management specialist with extensive asset management experience, joins as Head of Business Development to act as a conduit between clients, technology and sales teams to support swift onboarding for asset managers.
Brett Schechterman Leaves Rimes for IHS Markit
IHS Markit has hired asset management technology expert Brett Schechterman as the Global Head of cross-asset class investment management platform thinkFolio. Schechterman will report to Senior Vice President and Head of Solutions Andrew Eisen. He was formerly Head of Fixed Income Platform Solutions at UBS Asset Management and has also held senior roles at Legal & General Investment Management America and Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He joins He joined IHS Markit from Rimes, where he was North American Head of Product.
Patrick Ludden Joins Kaizen Reporting
Patrick Ludden becomes the latest senior hire to join the Kaizen team. Ludden will be a Regulatory Reporting SME, bringing with him over 25 years of extensive experience in finance, operations and technology functions. Previous to joining Kaizen, Ludden spent six years providing regulatory reporting expertise to HSBC Global Markets and prior to that, working on reporting implementation and control projects for major investment banks.
